Galileo Emirates, a division of the Emirates Group, was established in 1998 as an independent business unit to consolidate the distribution of travel solutions, primarily the Galileo Reservation System, in the existing markets of the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

In February 2002, the business was further expanded bringing the total number of countries in their portfolio to nine.
